Sheer talent, leadership, and determination... these are the traits a true
MVP possesses, and Florendo "Ren-ren" Ritualo has them all. He may not have bagged the MVP title this year, but that hasn't stopped him from leading the team and thus earning the
respect and admiration of his teammates and opponents alike. In his on words, Ren-ren answers questions about basketball, school life and how he gets it all together.
ECLAT: How did you feel when you weren’t named this
year’s MVP? Were you upset?
I prepared myself, so walang problema sa akin.
ECLAT: What is a typical day for you?
RENREN: Go to class at 8 o’ clock in the morning. Tapos, half-day lang ako ‘til 11:30. I eat lunch with my friends and my teammates. Tapos, I have practice by 3 o’ clock. After practice, sometimes we have team dinners. Tapos...wala, rest na ako. That’s it.
ECLAT: What do you do during your free time? Do you go out?
RENREN: What do you mean free time? Free time dito sa school?
ECLAT: How about the negative remarks about you, na you’re mayabang...
RENREN: Mayabang ba ako? May nagsabi? May La Salistang nagsabi ‘nun? I know myself, so hindi ako maaapektuhan nyan.
ECLAT: Who are the three most important people in your life?
RENREN: Syempre, daddy ko, mommy ko tsaka...ako (laughs). Mommy ko kasi may pagka-mama’s boy nga ako...parati siya nasa States, so I miss her. So pag pumupunta siya dito...happy talaga ako.
ECLAT: What is your motto in life?
RENREN: Do your best all the time. Because I don’t want to live my life with regrets, so I do my best all the time.
ECLAT: What is the legacy you want to leave La Salle?
RENREN: Siguro ano, player na talagang determined, sobrang hardworking, ayaw magpatalo.
